About Sarah

Okay! What is going on with your lashes!?

That was me, Sarah Grace Pena, the first time I saw someone wearing eyelash extensions, and from then on, I was hooked.

That was fifteen years ago. Then, I was a makeup artist working in San Jose and lashes hadn’t made it here yet so I went and got six professional certifications so that I could be sure I knew everything there was to know. I have just as much enthusiasm for the transformative power of lashes now as I did when I first saw them. They bring out a natural beauty without having to use much makeup, in fact, I think my clients look best with a fresh set of lashes and a clean, natural face.

Today, I'm a licensed esthetician and own a busy lash studio called Bloom, opened in 2004, and have spent the past ten years developing and perfecting lash supplies and products for my studio and other professionals. Every tray I opened got me thinking: How can this be better? Can we make this adhesive’s retention better and fume free? Can these lashes be lighter in weight, softer and more flexible? and the only thing to do was take the lashes into my own hands with the help of chemists and American manufacturers and create Fringe.

Fringe is a business that truly comes from the heart, that’s why I’ve partnered with charities to give back and made sure that all our products are made without any animal products. I encourage you to keep reading to learn more about everything from the eye-opening story behind our name to the details about our exciting subscription service developed for other professionals.

The Product

Fringe was named as a tribute to my great great grandmother, known by her stage name Fontaine La Rue, a Hollywood silent film actress. Back in the day, they already knew about the magic of lashes, but they didn’t have the technology and range of Fringe’s products, of course. They took a DIY approach, cut the fringe off rugs and glued it to their eyelashes for that awakened and refreshed look that we all still love about lashes.

Fringe products are a made in the United States, animal-cruelty free and totally free from animal products, and are the answer to years of sourcing our products from different vendors - lashes from one, tweezers from another, adhesive from somewhere else. This tiresome routine slows down business, but for me, it was the only way for me to get the quality our customers deserve.

Now, all the products you need are available from Fringe, a one stop shop created by a fellow professional extensionist and they can be delivered to you with our subscription service so that you can streamline your ordering process and do what you love!

It was important to us that we never sacrifice quality while keeping the price as accessible and inclusive as possible.

We have been using Fringe lashes exclusively at Bloom for about eight years. In that time, our business has flourished, our customers come back again and again, and our goal is to get our lashes on as many of your customers as possible all across the country and the world.

The Concept

There is nothing worse than starting the day - well, there is, starting a job - and realizing that you’re short on lashes, lash adhesive or lash pads. I’ve been there. You’ve been there. We’ve all been there. The ordering process is tedious and time consuming and busy lash extensionists and business owners don’t have time for that.

So, I got to thinking about how this could be better. What could we at Fringe could do to make your lives easier, help you grow your business, and have our lashes reliably available for you when you need them?

Our subscription service was crafted to solve these problems and more.

Personalized for your business needs, our boxes refill your supplies routinely so that you don’t have to worry about running out.
